The Arai XD-5 represents a significant evolution in adventure helmet design, combining advanced shell technology with enhanced rider comfort. At its core, the PB-cLc² shell is assembled using a sophisticated assortment of materials and reinforced by a super fiber belt across the forehead area—a design inspired by the way bands strengthen a barrel—to ensure maximum integrity without compromising weight.

The innovative VAS-A shield system has been lowered to further improve the helmet’s “glancing off” ability. This system allows for easier and faster shield swaps without the need for tools. Complementing this is the redesigned peak, which offers increased high-speed flow-through performance, a greater range of adjustability for blocking the sun, and superior resistance to buffeting for a more comfortable riding experience.

Advanced Ventilation and Airflow Control

• Mouth Shutter: Delivers fresh air more effectively than previous mesh vent designs.
• Inner Shutter: Works in conjunction with the mouth shutter to customize airflow; when both are open, air is directed toward the mouth, while closing the inner shutter directs air toward the shield to reduce fogging.
• Front Logo Duct: An ingenious intake that allows airflow through the forehead area without compromising the helmet’s protective capabilities, remaining effective regardless of the rider’s position.
• AR Spoiler: Optimized for adventure riding, this spoiler reduces fatigue caused by turbulent air during long journeys and actively draws hot air out from the crown.

Visibility and Interior Comfort

Visibility is managed by the VAS-A Max-Vision Shield, preserving the wide field-of-view expected from an XD model. The shield is compatible with advanced Pinlock® inserts, providing effective fog resistance even in extreme conditions. Inside, the helmet features an odor-resistant interior, ensuring a fresh feel during extended use.
